great start at the bridge. we rarely talk about him but Kabonov could be huge draft move by Snow. A 1st round talent that went in later round to us.
This Lockout actually favors the isles if you think about it. All our prospects are back in juniors and Nino is playing AHL where he should be, getting more experience.

I've read this same post from many people on here and it makes zero sense to me? Nino should have/would have been in the AHL regardless and those prospects should be in junior. How does a lock out favor the Isles? Does it force them into not making stupid decisions with their prospects? |

How so? The Islanders couldn't have made sound decisions with their prospects with out a lock out? |

Well, speaking strictly from Bridgeport's point of view, even if Nino was left down there, they wouldn't have had Hamonic, who has been really good early on, they probably wouldn't have one of Cizikas or Ullstrom (possibly both?)...likely Cizikas if he played in camp the way he has played the first two games, and they might not have another defenseman, possibly Donovan...although he was curiously scratched last night and I guess the coach wanted to send him an early message.
Heck, while I want to see the lockout end because it's horrible for the league as a whole, on a personal level, I don't really care anymore...Bridgeport's a pretty exciting team to watch. If only the production quality of the feeds was better...it's just downright strange watching what's on the arena's big screen when you're not actually there...especially in the first game against the Whale where my entire screen would just rapidly flash in a multitude of colors: LOUD NOISE!

I hear you. I believe the original post was that the lockout favors the islanders not the soundtigers. If someone said the lock out favors the prospects bcs it prevents the isles from making stupid management decisions that may be a more accurate description? I think thats the indirect an accidental post that everyone is making? |

I think they mean the Islanders organization as a whole.
When I hear somebody say the Islanders.... I think of the players, coaches, management, etc... |

I guess that's another way of saying it. With a stronger Bridgeport team, if they can keep their solid play going, the prospects are, imo, getting a better experience than if the team was diluted. Also, pure speculation, but maybe a player like Nino doesn't see going to B-port as a punishment, or demotion, or whatever, if there is no NHL hockey going on. Seems like he might approach the games with a better mindset in that case. Whether that's true or not, he looked good last night...more confident than the first game.
For anyone who didn't watch last night, I tried my hand again at as detailed a writeup as I could based on what I saw, http://my.hockeybuzz.com/...er_id=55451&post_id=14104 , and IPB has posted video highlights as well (the video quality on the highlights seems far better than what I was watching last night ) |

OK. Once again. How so? By making players play in the AHL where they belong anyway? |

Its not that it wouldn't have been a sound decision, but none of the prospects were cracking the top 2 lines or the top 2 d pairings in the NHL.
Prospects that might have been playing limited min in the NHL, now have a chance to play major min in the AHL. That is very good for their development.

It doesn't. How can it? Stupidest comments I've seen in the last few hours(I do frequent an Islander board). How can anyone say that? It's the convoluted thinking of the new age Isles fan that thinks this is a positive. More or less saying there is nothing the team can (frank) up while there is no hockey being played. Reality. Disgusting that anyone would think this is a positive for the team and some how turn it into a positive for prospects. You guys are just making myself and others look like geniuses. Go figure |

No one said it was a positive.. No one said.. "WooHoo.. thank good there is a lockout" The lock out sucks... but we can point to positives in that major negative.

for most prospects yes, but now they wont have to.. they will get major mins in the A, & Nino.. who this whole conversation is about wont have to "learn" on the third line in the NHL, he can learn on the top line in the AHL.

In both games, I'd say. I remember reading that he struggled during the limited games he got into late last year. Not the case at all in the first couple of games this season. |
